What is the relationship between Captain Jean-Luc Picard and Captain Kirk?
Hello I did not do anything about Star Trek, but we will see the new movie. So I ask myself What is the relationship between Captain Jean-Luc Picard and Captain Kirk? Are they in the series completely differnt?
There are about 71 years between the Star Trek movie where Kirk dies (Generations) and the first episode of STNG, when he was Captain Picard. So the only relationship among them was his position as captain and his meeting in "Generations". It is problem-solving skills (though not against the use of brute force when necessary). Kirk had Spock to provide a logical restraint, Picard had data. Both had no problem finding hot women Foreign almost everywhere they went and always surrounded by crew members in red shirts disposable. I liked the two captains, but I liked the villains better STNG (especially in Q)
