How can you wash Elmo / Cookie Monster Toy Chat / doll?

My son drooled all over the Cookie Monster Doll Chat / toy, you know who flips open his mouth and "chatters" Well, I do not know how to wash dirty without the speaker inside, he can not leave unless I open it. The battery can go out, but I can not pull it all completely. How do I soap the doll and make sure it is own, without fucking up?

Get a washcloth and wipe it with warm water and soap very soon.
