Skylanders and their magical powers and special weapons have protected Skylands, the mystical world of exciting lands, from evil for many, many years. But now, the evil tyrant Kaos has frozen the Skylanders and sent them to Earth. Only you can send the Skylanders back to Skylands to battle Kaos and his army and restore Skylands to how it should be.

The Skylanders Spyros Adventure Starter Pack for Nintendo Wii has all you need to send your character back to Skylands. It comes with three characters, Spyro, Gill Grunt, and Trigger Happy, each of whom has their own personality, skill set, and powers. Simply unfreeze your Skylander by putting it on the Portal of Power (included), and start playing. The starter pack also comes with a poster of the characters, stickers, trading cards, 3 web codes, and batteries.

The portal of power unfreezes your Skylander and sends it back to Skylands so you can help it protect Skylands. Do so by fighting off Kaos armythough you are fighting, there is no blood or gore; once beaten, the loser simply disappears. You can also help by collecting treasures, figuring out puzzles, and overcoming challenges. Because each character (there are over 30) has its own unique strengths, you can change out characters in the middle of play to use their strength. You can even put two characters on the portal at a time to play with someone or go head-to-head against one another.

As you progress through the game, one of the best features of Skylanders Spyros Adventure is that you can take your character to your friends house and play there without losing any of the skills or levels that youve already mastered! They even work across all the major gaming systems! Each character remembers what theyve accomplished in Skylands and will automatically remember even when put on a different portal. You can also switch from your gaming system and play online.

Skylanders are collectibles. Though you can finish the game with just the three you have in the starter pack, different characters bring different options for you to play, making the game replayable. Characters are designated by different element type: air, earth, fire, life, magic, tech, undead, or water, and thrive in those environments. So if you enter a water world and you have a water character, you can put it on the portal so that it allows you to use the characters talents like surfing, which the other characters dont have.

You can find more Skylander characters sold individually for around $8, or in a 3-pack for around $20. There are also adventure packs, also for around $20, that unlock new worlds to the game like Pirate Seas or Darklight Crypt.

This game is fun for all ages, though suggested for those 10 years old and older. Some have found that their younger children enjoy the game as well and can follow the plot and instructions (most are given both written and verbally). So pick up your favorite Skylander and make him come back to life in his world!
